ToughGuard-Aero® is superior to all other surface protection products on the market – even ceramic coatings. What separates ToughGuard-Aero from the competition is our propriety formulation which is made up of 12 different components that include a precise amount of an infused natural inorganic resin. 

 

This resin physically bonds with the existing paint coating system creating a depth of shine and gloss greater than new paint coatings. Our resin creates a true armor coat that protects the paint from harmful environmental elements such as rain erosion, chemicals, pollution, UV rays, acid rain, bird, and insect waste. The ToughGuard-Aero coating is free of Teflon® and silicon, contains anti-static properties, and has been scientifically proven to reduce surface roughness on freshly painted surfaces.

STEP 1 – Preparation Wash

(Deep thorough cleaning process)

 

The ToughGuard-Aero prep wash cleans the painted surfaces down to the microscopic level. This wash prepares the paint for the STEP 2 – ToughGuard-Aero coating by removing existing pollutants, waxes and other sealant products.

 

 

STEP 2 – ToughGuard Coating

Due to the low surface tension of our ToughGuard-Aero Sealant Coating, a little bit of product goes a long way. Customers around the world marvel at the ease of the application process and at the brilliant results of the ToughGuard-Aero Sealant coating.

 

 

STEP 3 – A Short Wait

(Cure time)

 

Once the ToughGuard-Aero Sealant Coating is applied we recommend 12 hours of curing time before you get your bird airborne. This cure time ensures a complete and thorough bonding of our resin with the paint. ToughGuard guarantees the durability and shine of your aircraft’s finish for a minimum of 2 years after initial application by one of our authorized dealers.

Boeing Estimated Fuel Burn Penalty Of Unwashed Airplanes

The expected fuel burn penalties associated with an unwashed airplane are based on the listed reference mission stage length and number of flights per year, factoring the results for alternate usages. The penalties also assume the same ratio of contaminated area to the airplane’s respective reference wing area exists, as was observed in an inspection of an in-service 747 airframe (12 percent). If an airplane has a greater level of surface roughness, and/or a higher percentage of surface area being contaminated, the actual fuel penalty may be higher than shown here.
